The name “Dusk Drama” came from the countless evenings spent overhearing friends and strangers recount the tangled stories of toxic partners and current events. These conversations always unfolded at dusk, inspiring a name that felt personal and relatable. The band formed in 2024 as the start of a new era for indie pop artist and frontman, Alex Lievanos. An electric refresh of his original solo project, this new arrangement features a much darker and explicit tone while still retaining the colorful melodies and catchy hooks.

Drawing inspiration from a diverse range of musical influences, including the indie charm of The Strokes, the post-punk energy of Bloc Party, the classic riffs of Aerosmith, and the harmonious storytelling of Hozier, Dusk Drama creates a sound that is uniquely their own. Blending the raw energy of melancholic surf rock with the gritty, introspective vibes of jazz-infused hard rock, their music weaves together intricate guitar work, punchy rhythms, and emotive lyrics, exploring themes of love, heartbreak, and the chaotic, often surreal nature of relationships.

Since their formation, the hard rock high-rollers have made waves in the San Diego music scene, sharing the stage with HUNNY, Bombargo, Foxtide, Buddha Trixie, benches, Sitting on Saturn and Blair Gun. They were nominated for “Best Indie / Alternative Artist” for this year's San DIego Music Awards, and last year for “Best New Artist”.
